happy october everyone! being that i am now in the middle of week 11, the baby is officially a fetus now and no longer an embryo. YAY!!! apparently my uterus (which paul so lovingly refers to as “the baby house”) is now the size of a large grapefruit…. which explains my ever-expanding bump. given that my bump is quite distinguishable, i realized last week that i had avoided the awkward “are you pregnant or just getting fat” looks and tell people at school that i am indeed preggers. my students are ridiculously excited and some of my overly dramatic 8th grade girls even cried and asked to call their moms. pretty cute…. the 8th grade boys on the other hand asked our science teacher a bunch of sex questions. nice…. regardless, people are psyched and that’s cool. with the first trimester just about being over, i figured it was time. atleast now i don’t have to try and force my bump into work clothes that are way too snug for me now. yay for that.

i’m waiting for the day when i feel the “flutters” that i keep hearing about. people have told me that around the time the first trimester ends, i should be able to feel the baby for the first time with these little flutters in my belly. hasn’t happened yet, but rest assured, as soon as it does, i’ll post about it. i feel like i am starting to really embrace this whole baby-thing. i kinda like my plumpness that has begun, knowing that i’m serving this wonderful purpose of carrying a baby.

oooohhh, funny story…. one evening last week, i stuffed a towel under my tshirt to ask paul how he’s going to handle me when i’m enormously preggers. he went to give me a hug like usual and couldn’t!!!! i was too big (i swear there was only 1 towel). anyway, he went to my side and hugged me like normal but just from the side. then he said “see, we can make it work.” it was really cute….

that’s all for now. our next dr. visit is next tuesday. can’t wait for that!!!
