well, we are back home in jacksonville after 3 weeks in atlanta with our families. paul is home from fallon, and all is well with the world. thanks to grammy graciously traveling with me, jackson and red, we were all able to drive safely back to jacksonville last friday. grammy stayed with us for the weekend so that we could get caught up in our house after being gone for so long. THANKS GRAMMY!!!
this week has been a crazy one… trying to get jackson back on a schedule after not being on one for 3 whole weeks has been intense, but we’re getting there. we had a few appointments this week and are making some head-way with jackson’s stomach issues. all of the tests he’s had so far are coming back negative, which is good because it means that medically nothing is wrong with jackson… he just plain ol’ doesn’t like to eat. i have two guesses as to why this is… 1) he either has a deep rooted hatred towards eating that stems from my breastmilk causing him pain and discomfort for his first 5 weeks of life… or 2) he is just straight up lazy and doesn’t want to work for food, period. we meet with the gastro-pediatric guy next week.
we had 2 visits from uncle nater this week, which was a highlight. nate is on his way to pensacola at this very moment, checking in to flight school. the poor guy has been a nomad for the last week or so as he’s been transitioning out of his place in gainesville and moving on to p’cola. jackson had some good hangout time with him as a result though, so we’re thankful for that.
paul and i are getting our first weekend away this weekend… his cousin, jeff, is getting married saturday and we’re off to vermont for the big celebration! tomorrow we will fly from jacksonville to atlanta, meet my parents at the airport to give them the magoo, then we’ll head north for the wedding on saturday, and travel back sunday, meeting my parents again and picking up the magoo to come home. it’ll be a whirlwind, but i’m excited. i know i will miss jackson terribly every second that i’m away from him, but this is good… paul and i could use the time away.
lastly, we have a sitting magoo on our hands!!! as of this morning, jackson can officially sit up on his own. he was laying on my legs this morning (facing me) and out of nowhere, he grabbed my tshirt and pulled himself up until he was fully sitting upright. i had a cow, as you can imagine. after i called nearly everyone in my phone to brag, jackson and i headed to target to get him a “bumbo seat.” this is a foamy little seat for wee-ones who are learning to sit up. the seat is designed so that the baby can support himself using his own body weight. jackson LOVES it!!! i’m soooooo proud of our little magoo. it’s so awesome watching him grow and change. every single day with him is so important because there is always something new. i LOVE watching him grow and become a little person. enjoy the pics!!!
