17 years
feels like yesterday. you were taken from us… too soon.

we’ve sent up balloons to you for 17 years.

messages scrawled on the balloons in marker.
“love you forever… missing you always… we love you poppy.”

jackson scribbled on the balloons this year. his own love note to his namesake… to you.

your “lynnie-babe” now “grammy” sending you love with her grandson.

she teaches jackson about you… her father. jackson will know who he is named after.

we love you poppy. we’ve missed you… for 17 years.

This is a lovely observance for your Grandfather. We do something similar, annually, for our Noah by throwing flowers in the ocean, one for every year he would have been. I think it’s important to remember our loved ones. To connect them to us even after they are gone. Because without them, without their love and life, who would we really be anyways? Sending love to you and your family today (and always).
Beautiful Nicole. Just beautiful! What a great idea to write on the balloons. Thinking of you!

That is a wonderful tradition.
What a great idea to keep connected and it be positive!
What an amazing tribute to him that you’ve carried this tradition on for 17 years.
