coming up for air
i thrive in times of change. i get bored easily and need to move around, or move stuff around. a few weeks ago, i got bored with my “work space” so i spruced it up a bit. instantly i felt better about working in my space.

WINE TASTING
(DUH… that was a given).
as i was saying, change in scenery excites me.
change in location excites me.
it’s and adventure… what’s to come… the anticipation of something new…
in that aspect, AND THAT ASPECT ALONE, i am a “good navy wife.” the moving around doesn’t bother me. in all other aspects of being “a navy wife” (i literally *shudder* as a type “navy wife”), i suck.
whatever, get over it. i am.
even with regards to myself, my physical appearance, change excites me. obviously, or i wouldn’t have done this….

in the coming weeks i will spend 10 days out west, in seattle and portland. i’ve never been to either location, and i have been told that i will never want to leave. paul worries that i seriously may not leave and instead just send for my child and dog.
my in-laws were kind enough to offer to come take care of the magoo and red during our trip. 10 days without the magoo will be difficult. but we have skype. yay for that.
it’s a work trip for paul, so he will be busy, which will allow me time… TIME!!! in a new environment, a new place. i am beyond excited. i have thought of starting to pack now.
that’s a lie. i’m 1/2 packed already.
my appointment has already been made for a new tattoo join the others i have on my body. another change… and addition to my story. a new piece of art. and ohsweetjaysus of nazareth i have never been more excited about enduring what will most likely be 3 hours of pain, for this…

and a change of scenery is exactly what i need right now.

Change is good. I can feel it, too. The fall always has that air of “new things to come” for me, almost more than spring, somehow.

The Northwest is awesome. My husband would move there in a heartbeat if we could. You’ll love it. Enjoy the change of scenery and have a great time.
First, that new haircut is GREAT! I’m craving a new look, myself… you have inspired me to just do it…
Second, I love new scenery. It really does give you a jolt. I recently re-purposed an old drafting table so that I could have my own “work space”, and it totally gave me and my work a boost.
Third, that tattoo is going to be AWESOME!! Seriously… I’ve been on the lookout for a new tattoo design myself; waiting for something to inspire me. Good luck with that one!

I am obviously a boring person because I hate change. We recently changed our living room furniture to better fend off our son from unwanted areas. I hated the whole process. It felt wrong. I guess I have problems.

Every time I’ve visited somewhere along the Pacific coast north of, ohhhh, let’s say Monterey, I am heartbroken to leave. You’re going to have an awesome time, and I can’t wait to hear about it!

I love both Portland and Seattle but everytime I’ve been to either it’s been soooooo cold (which is saying something from an English girl who is used to the cold and rain!!!! Brrrrr!!!) Hope that you have a blast!!!
