Nic, I am so sorry for your loss. I am here for you. Confession. I was not even there for my son’s first haircut. My babysitter Martha took him to Mexico and had his haircut for me. I don’t even have any of that hair. I just am not that sentimental. I KNOW. I am a cold-hearted bitch, but no so cold-hearted that I don’t sense your pain and loss. Hang in there. Hugs, LisaB
He looks so good with his new do! Those curles were so little man magoo for so long, but like you said a few posts back, he’s growin up. Trama for you, but good times are still to come.
Here (hands bottle) go drink this. You’ll fee better.
I feel your pain. I just went through this with my little guy. Where once there were curls, now there are none. It was as though he aged two years with that first snip. So sad, so sad.
I think there’s a reason that ritual celebrations surround a first haircut in many cultures. It really does feel like a line (maybe a curl?) between babyhood and little kid-hood.
@Rebecca yes, i have a teeny plastic bag of curls that were cut. but the magoo curls are still there, just shorter and not as ringletty. the place we went to is called pigtails and crewcuts and was so kid-friendly. i honestly don’t think the magoo wanted to leave… as for me, i was so ready to go and cry into my pillow over my growing, gorgeous boy.
he really is a lovely boy! the airplane shot where he’s looking up is absolutely frame-worthy! i think he looks fantastic, nik. those expressive eyes – wow! i love full brows on little tykes. my biscuit got her daddy’s brows and i’m STOKED (although that probably means when she turns 14 she’ll tweeze the hell out of them…)
hang in there, lady! you made it through another milestone!
Ohhhh, he looks cute!!! No tears, hair grows back. Looks like he had a good time. Yay!
But he’s so handsome!!! Not a baby anymore… I know, I hated that part too when it came around with my son and his red curls. snif…

Should have cut it shorter for a real little boy look! Curls look better on girls.

Awww, his hair cut looks so sweet. I cried when we cut our oldest son’s hair because he had such beautiful curls. I still have them too!

He is still absolutely gorgeous, though!!!
Aww, he looks so handsome. He is definitely going to be breaking the hearts of little girls in the playground
We have a place nearby called The Hairy Elephant and looks a whole lot like that place you took Magoo. Love….LOVE the curl’s. Did you save them?

Shit. I would sit in an airplane for a haircut any day of the week.
Hang in there, Magoo. Your mom will be over it soon . . .
