Big House: The Birdman
I’m diggin wine bottles with screw tops, and it’s not because I’m ghetto-fabulous and don’t want to smell the cork like a distinguished wino… it’s because I can get to the wine faster if I can just screw the top right off. Big House has a few reds, whites, etc… with both cork and screw tops however, being that it’s been warm yet comfortable summer weather here in Annapolis, I chose The Birdman Pinot Grigio. Yummy, crisp, and a hint of peach… I find this wine to be “nectar-licious.”

Beach Wines!
There is no “wine of the week” this week. I have returned from a vacation where I consumed so many fermented grapes that narrowing it down to just one brand of wine to promote couldn’t happen. So I leave you with a picture I took of multiple bottles in a sand dune. (And no, I did NOT drink all of these… just the one that’s on it’s side).
Cheers nic
Santa Marghertia Pinot Grigio
While this pinot grigio is on the pricier side… it’s worth it! I promise! For a special occasion, when hosting a gathering where an Italian meal is being served, this tasty treat will cleanse anyone’s palate. Pair it with some rosemary bread and olive oil, and you have the perfect marriage of tastes.
Cheers Nic!

Barefoot Zinfandel
Thanks to Ellie at Vintage Victuals (check her out on my blogroll) for gracing me with this fabulous write up for Barefoot Zinfandel…
“I’m a big fan of big zins – bold, dark, spicy, fabulous. At about $5/bottle, I wasn’t expecting much from this one – but what a pleasant surprise! It packs a delicious punch. Barefoot Zinfandel is an immense wine with inviting flavors of ripe cherry and wild raspberry. Aromas of vanilla and spice complement the lingering finish.”
Thanks Ellie!

Starborough Sauvignon Blanc
I chose to kick-off this portion of my website with this particular bottle because of the pretty starfish on the label. Sad, but true. I judge books by their covers and I judge wine by their labels. Starborough 2008 Sauvignon Blanc, has become the perfect way to embrace summer time. This deliciously flavorful yet subtle sauvignon blanc, with the slightest hint of pear, and a clean finish is even more fantastic when coupled with your cheese of choice (for me, it’s always brie).
Cheers! Nic
