well this sucks
what follows is the evolution of jackson’s current state of baldness… and yes, it’s all my fault, as i was a hair-twirler and puller-outer in my younger years and apparently so is my son.
dammit.
so much for my hippie child. good thing his birthday is on earth day and we can still rock our barefoot hippie magic together on the 22nd… WHEN HE TURNS 2.

I have to agree with Heather…Magoo is such a sweetie no matter how long or short his hair is. I bet he’d even be squishably adorable totally bald!

jackson’s hair was such a big part of his identity for so long that it’s really REALLY strange seeing his scalp. i’m hoping this stops his habit, because quite honestly the hair on my legs is longer than the hair on his head right now.
What is the habit? Is he literally pulling the hair out of his head? Or just playing with it?

@Trixie, hi trixie, i wish i could say he was just playing with it, but he pulls it out and the bald spot that’s in the 3rd picture from the bottom has only gotten worse. he does it in his sleep, so it obviously offers him some sort of comfort (i did the same thing until i was 4). covering his hands at night would only result in tantrum madness, so it was recommended by a lot of friends that this would help cease the habit and force him to find another way to comfort himself that wouldn’t result in him balding at 2 years old.
With the curls gone they really look like little men, don’t they? I am sure this strategy will work for you. Makes total sense.

when kael was a baby he had super long and curly hair at about 7 months he started to pull on it and he would cry and cry so finally at 10 months i got kael his first hair cut short mo-hawk and we haven’t gone back. i loved Magoos long hair but maybe if you try a shorter style like a buzz cut for awhile, when he is bigger you can grow it back!
