on kid-hood-ness, love and snot
the above picture serves as evidence for paul to hold over my head for years to come. we went to the navy football game on saturday. ok, not exactly… we went for a walk on a beautiful saturday afternoon when there happened to be a navy football game and in doing so, walked directly into a ton of our nearest and dearest friends.
given how much paul was IN SHOCK to hear me suggest we commit to such an activity, i documented the event.
we celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary this weekend. it was kinda funny to spend part of the day hanging out with paul’s roommates and friends from college, because it’s those same people who knew us as teenage love birds and those same people stood by us at our wedding.
twas awesome.
**********
back tracking a bit for the real celebration of the weekend… friday marked the arrival of jackson’s big boy magoo bed. moving out of the realm of a toddler and into full blown kid-hood, a twin bed found its way into a little nook in his room.
he’s so big, y’all. and such a sprawler when he sleeps.
when i go in to kiss him goodnight before turning in myself, he’s sweaty and delicious. seeing him in his toddler bed recently reminded me of when i was pregnant with him. towards the end of the pregnancy, the 9 lb 6 oz magoo simply had nowhere to move. he outgrew what had been his home for 9 months.
so the twin bed arrived and the chaos ensued…
how many toys can we fit in the bed with us?
can we kick the wall 14 times before they come in and tell me to stop?
22 times?
let me tell you about all of the trucks that are on my new blanket and what each one does…
sleep? you want me to sleep?
now please excuse me while i search for a kleenex and ring the snot out of my sleeve.

That is SUCH a cute room! I love what you did with it

We just bought G-tot a big boy bed last week. We are still waiting for it to be delivered but I imagine I will need tissues when we put it up. Sweet babies grow up way too fast, don’t they?

Oh, it happens so fast … I remember crying my eyes out when each of my kids left their cribs. Sob!!!
OMG I felt like this when I got Mas a twin. We skipped the toddler and went from crib to twin. He’s large yo. He wasn’t even climbing out of the crib, he was just huge. Poor guy. It was bittersweet, just like all the milestones. *hugs*

Awww, I love hearing about this stage in people’s lives (toddler beds). It is such a big moment and one that brings parental tears from kids growing up so fast. What a great room. Love it!

Wow, a twin bed. Magoo, you are such a big boy now
I’m going to hold onto Maya toddler bed for a while longer. She’s small enough that she still fits just perfectly and I’m not ready yet.
Happy Anniversary again to you and the lovely Paul. Glad to hear you had a lovely weekend celebrating.

Very cute tyke room! Also? WAH!!!!! If Magoo is growing up, that means Benny Boy is growing up. What was that show from when we were little and the main character would put her fingers together and freeze time? I need that.
Oh no no no. Please don’t make us graduate to a big boy bed.
I cannot handle it.
There will be snot- I’m sure of it.

Oh my he’s such a big boy! Miles loves his bed too. It is heart wrenching to watch them grow up but they are just such fabulous little boys it is so exciting too. Between your boogers and those of a two year old boy you’ve just got to pull it together or you’ll have boogers everywhere. Haha. Kidding mama – cry away.
Happy Anniversary!

OMG. his room is so cute. Crying thinking of having to get my ahem, 3 year old, out of his crib. It’s def the last stop on the baby to boy train. Yes, we’re moving slow. Okay, you have me inspired now!
