Survivorship
i am a rape survivor.
my story can be found here.
after sharing my story publicly on violence unsilenced, i received A LOT of emails with sincere questions, genuine concern and care… i address those questions and the aftermath of coming out with my story here.
in an attempt to right what was wronged for me as a victim of sexual assault who had no advocate to explain what was going to happen to me during a rape-kit exam, what was expected of me should i choose to file a police report or not, i trained to become a certified rape victim advocate myself.
no survivor should be alone in their time of need and crisis.
i am intensely passionate when it comes to promoting awareness and supporting survivors.
i have spoken at “take back the night” rallies and shared my story at trainings for other advocates in an attempt to spread awareness and help those who are willing to advocate for other survivors. please feel free to contact me for more information regarding speaking engagements and sharing my story.
knowing that 1 in 4 women will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime is a sickening fact, yet a fact we must face.
i am writing a book chronicling my survivorship… through the art of tattoos… celebrating a body that was once violated. i look forward to the day when that book is published and shared.
